i recently fixed my ipod which suppered from the clicky-sound-of-death coming from the hard drive.  sad mac came up on every reboot, restart, reformat etc.  the lazyweb suggested a maintainance ‘beat down’ which i applied to the ipod with the assistance of my dining table. voila! a few minutes later i was listening to the music i liked a month ago. im gonna fix that i guess.
